Gaming Laboratories International Creates Unit To Serve Latin American Clients

Latin American clients will receive quality support due to GLI’s new unit, designed specifically to serve the region.

Gaming Laboratories International, which issues an average of 4,200 certifications per month, has expanded to better serve its Latin American and Spanish-speaking clients in the areas of quality assurance and compliance. The new QA and Technical Compliance Unit promises to reduce risk and increase profitability for their Spanish-speaking suppliers and regulators, according to Karen Sierra-Hughes, director of Latin American Development for GLI.

Diana Golda, the company’s senior director of quality assurance, will oversee the unit. Maria Alessi will manage the team. She is a technical compliance staff member.

Division Vice President Christine Gallo said GLI has been committed to the Latin American gaming and lottery industries for almost 20 years.
“There is a critical need for us as a company to deliver accurate and timely certifications and regulatory support for our Spanish-speaking clients in the region,” Gallo said.

Hughes said Spanish-speaking GLI personnel will understand the region’s culture and jurisdictions. In addition, GLI is building up the bandwidth, which was requested by Latin American regulators. Clients also requested training and help with developing technical standards.

“We look forward to continue supporting the Latin American gaming and lottery industry,” Hughes added.

A roundtable with regulators will take place September 3-4 in Lima, Peru.

Gaming Laboratories International is in its 25th year as a testing laboratory and technical consultant. Headquarters are in New Jersey.
