Gaming Panel Approves Massachusetts Renovation Plans

The state panel that oversees gaming in Massachusetts gave the go ahead to a five-year, $9 million renovation plan for Plainridge Park Casino (l.). The facility is currently the only operating casino in the state.

The Massachusetts Gaming Commission (MGC) last week approved of a million renovation plan for Plainridge Park Casino, which is currently the only casino operating in the Bay State.

The $9 million in capital improvements will be spent over the next five years, the casino management told the panel. The casino has already spent $1.65 million of the planned renovations in 2016 and a similar expenditure is slated for this year.

Most of the money goes to replace slot machines, with kitchen renovation and improvements to the horse racing area as large expenditures.
