Genting Resumes Cruises to Nowhere

Genting Cruise Lines has launched its first “cruise to nowhere” since the Covid-19 crisis, in a move that analysts say could help lift the stock of Genting HK.

Genting Resumes Cruises to Nowhere

Genting Cruise Lines launched its first cruise to nowhere from Singapore on Friday with around 1,400 passengers on board for what the company has dubbed its “Super Seacation.”

With capacity limited to 50 percent of the normal 3,400 passengers, the cruises begin with a complete lineup of Covid-19 safety measures in place, from enhanced hygiene for guest cabins to 100 percent fresh-air ventilation in public areas. There is a state-of-the-art medical facility on board, equipped with rapid Covid-19 testing, and a quarantine area for anyone testing positive.

The cautious resumption of cruises is hoped to aid Genting Hong Kong, which has slumped since the suspension of sailing due to Covid-19.
