Genting UK will spend £1.6 million to renovate its Glasgow Sauchiehall Street casino property. Work on Genting Casino Glasgow is already under way, reports SBCNews. The casino will continue to operate during the refurbishment, with completion scheduled by the end of November.
In addition to an overhaul of the gaming facilities, the work will create a smaller gaming room to accommodate 20 slot machines and 10 electronic gaming terminals. Moreover, the casino will incorporate a Chinese theme throughout, using paintings, graphic wallpapers and light fixtures. Genting plans a number of relaunch events during Chinese New Year in January.
Food and beverage outlets will introduce a themed revamp, from furniture and decor to menus, with three karaoke rooms will be updated in the same Asian-style.
“We’re making a significant investment in the Glasgow casino to ensure our customers can enjoy the best gaming experience available,” said Iain Gardiner, general manager at Genting Casino Glasgow. “We have an extremely strong relationship with the Chinese community in the city and it’s great to acknowledge those links as part of the refurbishment.”
