Georgia Cracking Down On Gaming Machine Payoffs

Currently about 25,000 electronic gambling machines operate throughout Georgia. They pay out winnings in credits to be redeemed for lottery tickets, fuel and store merchandise. But some illegally pay winners in cash. A study committee recently met to review state Senator Larry Walker's (l.) bill limiting the games and to make recommendations for the upcoming session.
