The Georgian parliament is reportedly working on a new bill to ban gambling ads in the country unless through a specific sponsorship.
The bill would ban gambling ads on television, radio, the internet and other means of communication.
The bill would also block Georgian residents from crediting money to thee accounts of foreign-based gambling sites.
“We very much hope that we will have a very serious result,” Levan Gogichaishvili, a member of Georgian Dream told Georgia Today. “The task that we face at this stage is to reduce the number of people playing. Half a million people are registered today in online or other spaces.”
