German telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom has announced it will launch online sports betting product through its acquisition of 64 percent of Österreichische Sportwetten subsidiary Deustche Sportwetten.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but the company says it will launch “purely internet-based sports betting services” within the first quarter of this year.
Bets can be placed on a range of sports such as football, basketball and the Formula 1 motor-racing, the company said in a release.
