GGB PODCAST: Jeannie Hovland, Vice Chair, National Indian Gaming Commission

This week, we sit down with Jeannie Hovland (l.), vice chair of the National Indian Gaming Commission, to talk about the commission’s priorities for the rest of the year, its forthcoming industry revenue report and the evolution of the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act over the last 30-plus years.

The National Indian Gaming Commission is one of the most influential bodies in tribal gaming, and the commission’s Vice Chair Jeannie Hovland has become a key leader in both the NIGC and the tribal industry overall. Despite the recent departure of longtime chairman Sequoyah Simermeyer, things aren’t slowing down for the commission, which is set to release its highly anticipated revenue report later this summer. Hovland spoke with GGB Managing Editor Jess Marquez at the Indian Gaming Tradeshow & Convention in April.
