Seeking younger clientele

Genting Hong Kong has announced it will acquire the club brand Zouk Singapore for an undisclosed sum.

In a statement, Zouk said GHK will acquire the new Zouk Club in Clarke Quay and the annual ZoukOut festival as part of the deal. The acquisition is expected to be completed before the end of the year.

“As Genting Hong Kong continues to expand its reach in attracting a younger and more lifestyle-driven clientele, we are confident that the addition of such an iconic institution will further complement and enhance the company’s overall brands and offerings across the region,” said Andrew Li, Genting Hong Kong’s vice president of lifestyle.

“Zouk, a world-class brand, has all along held ambition to expand beyond Singapore and Malaysia,” added Zouk founder Lincoln Cheng.

The Singapore club will continue to operate under Benny Heng, newly appointed managing director and former general manager, according to Channel News Asia.
