GIGSE to Employ ‘Open Space’ Format

Next April’s GIGSE will employ a format in which participants will create their own agendas and self-organize networking and discussions.

The organizers of the GIGSE iGaming conference, to be held next April in San Francisco, announced that the event will employ “Open Space Technology,” a format in which producer Clarion Events will set no formal or pre-determined agenda. Attendees will create their own agenda and self-organize discussions.

“Open Space Technology originated in the U.S., and has been used in different formats since the early 1980s,” said Ewa Bakun, head of content for gaming at Clarion Events. “It works most effectively when certain conditions are met, including business issues that stakeholders are genuinely passionate about, and where there is a real sense of purpose—both of which, I’m pleased to say, apply to the GIGSE brand.

“I am delighted that we made such fantastic progress in such a short period of time and that there is such a groundswell of positivity towards the GIGSE brand.”
