GLI Completes Puerto Rico Inspection

Gaming Laboratories International has just completed a three-month inspection of 100 percent of gaming devices and systems in Puerto Rico. The inspection will allow regulators to “create a safer gaming environment for the public,” said company director Karen Sierra-Hughes.

Gaming Laboratories International, a global gaming testing laboratory and technical consultancy, has completed a jurisdiction-wide inspection of all gaming devices and systems in Puerto Rico, the company has announced. The 12-week inspection covered 23 casinos and 7,690 gaming devices.

The inspection “helped Puerto Rican regulators to continue the high level of integrity of the Puerto Rico slot operation, thereby creating a safer gaming environment for the public,” said GLI Director of Latin American Development Karen Sierra-Hughes. “We are very pleased with our successful completion of this inspection.”

“The results generated from GLI’s field inspections will provide the Puerto Rico Tourism Company the information needed to determine the current approval status for any piece of software and hardware that has been verified,” added Andy Viera, director of gaming for the Puerto Rico Tourism Company. “One of our goals has been to maintain the public trust on the casino games, and this certification validates our efforts to achieve this objective.”

GLI has been working with regulators in Puerto Rico for more than 10 years, and worked with regulators in the jurisdiction before gaming was regulated on the island, assisting in rule-writing and a wide range of other types of consultation.
