Leading gaming testing company Gaming Laboratories International announced that its GLI Japan subsidiary has received Japanese government approval to test and certify pachinko and pachislot machines, breaking the monopoly of the Security Communications Association (Hotsukyo).
Currently, the Security Communications Association tests and certifies that the pachinko and pachislot machines in the market conform to fair standards in terms of the rate of payoffs and other factors. There has been trouble in the past with some pachinko parlor stores around the nation altering the machines at their end.
