GLI Names Professional Services Chief

Gaming Laboratories International has named risk management and security expert Thomas Bierbach as senior manager of GLI professional services.

Leading gaming testing company Gaming Laboratories International has named respected lottery risk management and security expert Thomas Bierbach as senior manager of its Professional Services division.

Bierbach is a highly experienced Certified Information Security Manager (CISM) and Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), and brings more than 20 years of international technology and management experience to GLI. He is an accredited WLA Security Control Standard Auditor and Certified ISO/IEC27001 Lead Auditor, and has led lotteries through ISO/IEC27001 implementation and certification, as well as WLA Security Control Standard Certifications.

“Throughout the global lottery industry, Thomas is known as a consummate professional in the field of lottery risk management and security and compliance,” said GLI Professional Services Director Gregory Doucette. “His work in the identification and implementation of security and compliance programs in support of operational integrity, fraud prevention and player protection are widely known, and he has solidified his reputation as a key thought-leader in the field. Prior to joining GLI, Bierbach was senior consultant to Atlantic Lottery Professional Services, advising the lottery on professional services practices development. He has also served as the director of security and compliance and as IT audit manager for the Atlantic Lottery Corporation.

Previously, he served as director of lottery and audit services for BMM Testlabs, vice president of risk advisory and compliance for Baseline Business Geographics and co-chair on the World Lottery Association Security & Risk Management Committee, representing Canada.
