New Jersey-based Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) will celebrate its 12th Latin American and Caribbean Regulators Roundtable in San Jose, Costa Rica, Monday through Wednesday, November 4-6. GLI will welcome regulators to discuss the state of gaming throughout the region.

The Junta de Protección Social, Costa Rica´s National Lottery, is this year’s host regulator. The event is produced through GLI’s educational division, GLI University.

The event offers attendees three days of learning, networking and discussions, with content curated exclusively for gaming and lottery regulators and government lotteries. Registration is limited to government representatives only.

This year’s Roundtable agenda addresses many mission-critical topics that will prepare government officials for the challenges and opportunities they will face in the years to come, including:

  • Legislative Updates
  • The ABCs of Technical Standards
  • Auditing and Technical Compliance
  • New Gaming and Lottery Trends
  • Online Gaming and Sports Betting
  • Cybersecurity
  • Combating Illegal Gaming
  • Keeping Crime Outside the Gaming Industry
  • Responsible Gambling and AML

“At GLI, we are convinced that collaboration among regulators is the key to develop gaming and lottery policy and legislation that allows for the sustainable and regulated growth of the industry,” said Karen Sierra-Hughes, director of Latin America and Caribbean government relations and business development. “This is why we continue to create forums that have provided the opportunity for government agencies to learn from other regulators and lotteries´ experience and replicate the best practices adopted by them.

“The Latin American and Caribbean Regulators Roundtable reaffirms our strong and continuing commitment to our critical mission,” she added. “We also believe that innovation is key for the success of the gaming and lottery industry. The roundtable also provides a global perspective of the new trends with a risk-based approach to guarantee the integrity and transparency of the industry. We look forward to another exciting conference in San Jose,” she added.

Last year’s Roundtable attracted more than 80 representatives from 33 government entities and 19 countries from Latin America, the Caribbean, and Spain. Registration and information are available at gaminglabs.com/GLICostaRica19.

The biannual CIBELAE (Association of Iberoamerican State Lotteries) conference is also taking place in Costa Rica immediately after the roundtable. Event and registration information is available at this link: https://cibelae.net/costaricapuravida.

GLI is also celebrating its milestone of proudly serving the Latin American region for 20 years at this year’s Roundtable and at the CIBELAE conference.
