The purchase of Bally Technologies by Scientific Games last year brought together three of gaming’s main suppliers: Bally, WMS and Shuffle Master. Charged with blending these three iconic brands together is Derik Mooberry, the group CEO of gaming. In his long career at Bally, Mooberry was responsible for at various times table game products, interactive research and development, products and operations, and system sales. At Scientific Games, Mooberry deals with all those and more. The challenge of continuing the innovations of the three divisions, while managing costs and operations, makes Mooberry’s job challenging, but rewarding. He spoke with GGB Editor Frank Legato from his offices in Las Vegas for the June cover story of the magazine on the gaming division of Scientific Games.
