Dermot Smurfit, the CEO of GAN (formerly Game Account Network), has long experience in iGaming and development game content. With GAN, he has turned his attention to social casinos and how important they are to player loyalty, connectivity with customers and the long-term financial health of any land-based casino. He talks about why U.S. casino operators have been slow to embrace social casinos that would allow them to stay in touch with their players when off property. He also explains why Facebook and other platforms aren’t the best vehicles to fully utilize the data casinos receive from their social games.
