As CEO Shuffle Master Gaming (later SHFL entertainment), Dr. Mark Yoseloff encouraged thinking outside the box. Under his leadership, Shuffle Master introduced many groundbreaking products and services to the gaming industry. After retiring in 2009, Yoseloff has continued to encourage innovation in the industry, and last year, he joined forces with UNLV to establish the Gaming Innovation Center at the university’s International Gaming Institute. His first effort was a class on gaming innovation, which produced patents for 12 new games, one of which was bought by Konami Gaming. Yoseloff explains how he encouraged the students and how he is planning to expand the GIC outside the walls of UNLV. He spoke with GGB Publisher Roger Gros at the innovation center at UNLV in June.
