GLOBAL GAMING BUSINESS PODCAST: Joe DeSimone, Owner, DiSimone Gaming

When Joe DeSimone bought Railroad Pass Casino in Henderson, Nevada, just outside of Boulder City, from MGM Resorts in 2014, he was new to gaming. A real estate developer in Henderson, he saw value in Railroad Pass and invested millions in improvements. This year, he purchased the former Eldorado Casino in downtown Henderson from Boyd Gaming. Again he invested more than $7 million in upgrades and opened in April to great reviews. He recently broke ground on a new hotel at Railroad Pass and has plans to add a hotel to The Pass, which is adjacent to the practice facility for the Henderson Silver Knights, a minor league hockey team that began play last year. He spoke with GGB Publisher Roger Gros from his office at The Pass in June, just prior to the groundbreaking of his new Holiday Inn Express Hotel at Railroad Pass.
