GLOBAL GAMING BUSINESS PODCAST: Matt Wilson, CEO Gaming, Light & Wonder

Scientific Games has a great brand, but it was tied to the lottery industry where it started. When the company sold off its lottery division recently, the name went with it, requiring a name change and rebranding. Matt Wilson, the company’s gaming CEO, explains the wisdom behind the Light & Wonder brand and how it will impact the company. He points out that without the lottery and sports betting divisions, which was also sold recently, Light & Wonder will be focused strictly on gaming—land-based, social and real money iGaming. He explains how these three elements will become even stronger because of their similar mission—to create great games. He spoke with GGB Publisher Roger Gros just days after the rebranding announcement at Light & Wonder headquarters in Las Vegas. (See a video of this podcast below.)
