At the height of last year’s slot consolidation wave, one unusual purchase was announced. Global Cash Access, the gaming industry’s leading cash provider, bought Multimedia Games, the up-and-coming Austin, Texas slot company that had made a name for itself with a unique slot tournament concept, TournEvent. As the CEO of GCA, Ram Chary had to build a new company from the ground up. He explains how he did it, what kind of corporate culture is developing and how his attention has been focused on the game side of the business even though the bigger revenue generator is the cash transactions. He talks about how the company is going to move forward and what strategies it will employ to become a major supplier in the North American market.
