When Ray Pineault first saw Sightline’s Play+ system that allows players to deposit money in a pre-paid account and transfer to their favorite slot machine or table game, he knew that it was going to be received well by his customers. The president and general manager of Mohegan Sun could immediately see the advantage it would give his team in terms of customer service for the customer and costs savings for the casino. And when you add other variables such as the vast amount of data it would produce on customers’ buying habits and a slice of the fees generated by the debit card, Pineault was sold. He spoke with GGB Publisher Roger Gros at Mohegan Sun last November during the beta test period for Play+, which is now over, and the system is in use across the casino.
