GLOBAL GAMING BUSINESS PODCAST: Roy Student, President, Applied Management Strategies

Today, the GGB Podcast sits down with Roy Student, the president of Applied Management Strategies, on his long career involving emerging technology, cutting-edge issues and the way he views the “old school.”

Roy Student arrived in Las Vegas in the early ‘70s and immediately got involved in technology that moved the casino industry forward. He was an early participant in CMS systems, server-based technology and an advocate for non-gaming amenities at a time when only gaming revenue was valued. But Student’s long career included interacting with some of the greats of gaming, and his recollections remind people that if you don’t understand the past, you can’t prepare for the future. He spoke with GGB Publisher Roger Gros from his home office in April.
