The American Gaming Association has always done studies, surveys and research into the impact of gaming on the communities in which it is located. But since taking over as president and CEO two years ago, Geoff Freeman has ramped up that effort to portray the real story that gaming works. Sara Rayme, an executive with deep industry experience, was brought on as senior vice president, public affairs to direct the new push, and helped to design the “Get to Know Gaming” campaign that has received much attention and ink from the mainstream press since its launch. In addition, a study that quantifies the economic impact of gaming in all sectors has been quite influential. She spoke with GGB Publisher Roger Gros from her offices in Washington in December as one of the “25 People to Watch” in the January issue of the magazine.
