Golden Names Salinas Security VP

Golden Entertainment recently named Al Salinas corporate vice president of security. Previously he served 29 years in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department, becoming the first Hispanic to hold the rank of deputy chief. Salinas will oversee the operational and strategic direction, administration and coordination of Golden's security and surveillance departments.

Al Salinas has been named corporate vice president of security at Las Vegas-based Golden Entertainment Inc. Salinas joins the company after serving 29 years in the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department where he became the first Hispanic promoted to the rank of deputy chief in the department’s history.

In his new position, Salinas will oversee the operational and strategic direction, administration and coordination of Golden Entertainment’s security and surveillance departments. He will work directly with the company’s corporate and divisional management regarding potential safety and security risks, criminal activity and activity that could harm the company’s guests.

Salinas joined Metro as a patrol officer in 1986. He served in the SWAT Unit and the organized crime bureau, and held the positions of sergeant, detective and sub-station command officer. He also served as director of the Southern Nevada Counter Terrorism Center for a year. Salinas received security clearances from the Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Justice.
