An American flag and a spruce tree recently marked the final pour of the 13-story Rush Tower at the Golden Nugget in Lake Charles, Louisiana, scheduled to open in summer 2017. Owned by Tilman Fertitta, the Golden Nugget tower hotel will offer 353 luxury hotel rooms, three pool villa suites and 24 corner suites.
In addition to the tower hotel, the $600 million casino resort will offer a championship golf course, a spa, retail areas and restaurant options.
Fertitta also owns Houston-based Landry’s which operates more than 500 restaurant and entertainment venues, including Landry’s Seafood, Bubba Gump Shrimp Company, Morton’s the Steakhouse and Rainforest Cafe.
