Since May, DraftKings has owned Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG). During DraftKings’ third quarter earnings call earlier in November, the sportsbook said the integration of GNOG into DraftKings’ platform should be finished in the latter half of 2023.

Meantime, the Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board has yet to rule on GNOG’s application as a Qualified Gaming Entity despite its filing for such status in 2020.

Online casinos including PlayStar also have applications pending, and PointsBet Casino launched in April. GNOG should be at the top of the board’s list.

DraftKings sees the integration “as a way to penetrate deeper into the iGaming market,” Jason Robins, DraftKings Co-Founder and CEO said.

Pennsylvania online casinos have set all-time highs, with iGaming tax revenue expected to surpass $1 billion this month. The state’s performance ranks in the top three markets, alongside New Jersey and Michigan.

DraftKings now operates two of the three largest online casinos in New Jersey. Golden Nugget has the highest all-time revenue since debuting its online gambling platform in 2013, and DraftKings sits third on that list through a partnership with Resorts Atlantic City.

Can New Jersey success rub off on Pennsylvania?

A Qualified Gaming Entity license would allow DraftKings to operate from New Jersey instead of creating a new partnership, which is necessary for an iGaming operator license.

DraftKings and Golden Nugget also operate online casinos and sportsbooks in West Virginia and sportsbooks in Arizona.

With GNOG, Pennsylvanians will be eligible for a first-time deposit bonus at Golden Nugget Casino PA once it launches. In New Jersey, new players can take advantage of over $1,500 worth of bonuses.

Golden Nugget will also offer some of the largest progressive jackpots in the state.
