Google to Test Social Casino Ads

Google has announced it will allow some social casino advertising in a beta test. The search engine has long banned gambling related ads.

Google will allow some social casino advertising s part of a new beta test.

Google restricts the promotion of gambling-related content, but now says that it will “begin supporting ads for social casino games as part of a limited beta program.”

Only existing AdWords advertisers with good compliance histories will be allowed to participate in the beta test expected to launch in March.”

The ads cannot link to any real-money gambling sites and cannot have any gambling related advertising.

The ads must also “clearly and prominently” inform users that the games are “intended for an adult audience” and that “practice or success” at social casinos “does not imply future success” at a real-money gambling site.
