GPI to Expand U.S. Manufacturing

Gaming Partners International has entered into a construction contract to expand its U.S. manufacturing facility at Blue Sprints, Missouri.

Table-game supplier Gaming Partners International is ramping up its U.S. manufacturing facility at Blue Springs, Missouri, where it manufactures playing cards and table layouts. GPI inherited it when it acquired GemGroup in July 2014.

The company has entered into a $2.2 million contract with Miller Staunch Construction Company for the project, which the company said will be complete by the end of September. The company will fund the expansion with internal resources, with available cash flow from its current operations.

GPI announced it will relocate all playing card production from the company’s Mexico manufacturing facility to the Blue Springs plant. “The consolidation was part of our strategic plan to improve the efficiency of our playing card production and has provided savings in the manufacturing of playing cards,” the company stated in its third-quarter 2015 results announcement.
