A suburb north of Athens, Greece, could become home to a luxury casino complex. North Star Entertainment has proposed the €250 million casino resort with 5-star hotel, convention facilities and dining.

The Greek Environment and Energy Ministry has approved going forward with North Star Entertainment’s Casino Complex, Project Voria, a €250 million ($266m) project in Maroussi, Athens, the iGaming Post reported April 9.

To be built in a northern suburb of the Greek capital city, Casino Project will include a 5-star luxury hotel, an event venue, and conference spaces that will be able to host conferences, exhibitions, weddings, and corporate gatherings, including international events.

According to the developer, the complex will offer many dining and entertainment options, including fine dining and casual cafes. There will be live shows and performances.

The casino will include “an unparalleled gaming experience, the casino will feature a wide range of games and entertainment options. Whether you’re a seasoned gambler or a novice looking for some excitement, the casino will cater to your preferences,” the developer said. It will be designed to appeal to tourists and local residents.

The approval came after an environmental and sustainability study by the Environment and Energy Ministry, leading to the final stage of the licensing process, including the securing of business permits.
