Greece Raises €2 Online Bet Cap

The Hellenic Gaming Commission has raised the limit on wagers for slots and table games from €2 maximum to €20. The change was effective immediately.

The lifting of the limit came after the Greek government spent a year reviewing gaming policy by the Ministry of Finance. Part of the same relaxation was the announcement that jackpot values for slots would be doubled from €70,000 to €140,000.

Greece legalized gaming in 2011 after being ordered to do so by the European Court of Justice. The government review of the industry was the first since then.

Fifteen casino licenses are currently operated within Greece by both foreign and domestic businesses.
