Gaming regulators in Greece have shut down the Club Hotel Casino Loutraki (l.) after the operator failed to pay €250,000 (US$310,000) in gaming taxes. The rate is set at 35 percent of each day’s gaming revenues.

The Club Hotel Casino Loutraki in Greece was ordered to close after the operator failed to ante up required gaming revenue taxes. The casino is required to pay 35 percent tax on each day’s gaming revenue, but no payments had been made for the month to date. The casino was in arrears by €250,000 (US$310,000), according to CalvinAyre.com.

Local media outlet Parapolitika said the casino did not pay because it had not yet received a €44 million tax refund.
