Work has begun to widen the southbound I-375 exit ramp near a parking garage entrance at Dan Gilbert’s Greektown Casino-Hotel in Detroit. The casino is spending .25 million to turn the single-lane exit into three lanes.

The ramp will remain open during the 10-week construction period.

Greektown officials said the Michigan Department of Transportation has approved the upgrade, which will improve safety and traffic flow in and around the Greektown neighborhood and downtown. “As more and more people are choosing downtown Detroit as their entertainment destination, this expansion will allow for a better visitor experience” said Brian Eby, Greektown senior vice president and assistant general manager.
