Green Valley Ranch Announces Large-Scale Renovations

Station Casinos’ Green Valley Ranch (GVR) property in Henderson has embarked on a new “property-wide transformation,” which will include redesigning the existing buffet area into new food and beverage offerings as well as new high-limit rooms, the company announced June 23.

That day also saw the opening of the Polaris Bar, a circular bar at the center of the property with 20 bartop machines.

GVR officials told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that two new venues from Bromberg Bros. Blue Ribbon Restaurants will be coming to the property—a Blue Ribbon Sushi Bar and Grill and a Mediterranean concept that will be unveiled at a later date.

The plans are similar to work that was just completed at Red Rock Casino Resort and Spa, which also falls under Station management. At Red Rock, the former buffet area was transformed into three new options last year: Naxos Taverna, Lotus of Siam and Kallisto Oyster bar.

“We saw the success we had at Red Rock that did a very, very similar project. As I talked to guests here, we got the same feedback,” Ken Janssen, general manager at GVR, told the Review-Journal. “They talk positively about some of the things they did there. To do that here in their backyard, Henderson, just makes a lot of sense for them.”

With regard to the new high-limit rooms, one will feature 10 table games, including double-deck blackjack, single-zero roulette and midi baccarat. The other will house approximately 125 slots. The property will also upgrade all the furniture and equipment for its pool deck.

The company did not disclose a budget for the renovations, but Red Rock Resorts, Station’s parent company, said during its first-quarter earnings call in May that it plans to invest $70 to $90 million in maintenance projects for its entire portfolio this year, of which GVR is just one part.

“I think we’re servicing some things in the market on this side of town that are just frankly missing,” Janssen told the Review-Journal. “It’ll be exciting to bring that to the Henderson community.”

In all, the renovations are expected to wrap up by the beginning of next year, but some amenities will roll out over the course of the year as they become available.
