Panelists will discuss topics such as the most appropriate Integrated Resort (IR) model for Japan to follow, and what will the tax model and licensing process look like.

“With the passing of the IR bill earlier this year, this conference will provide relevant information and foster dialogue regarding the next phase of IR development in Japan,” said Sabol, who focuses her practice on gaming regulatory and business law, representing national and international casino owners, operators, and suppliers in the areas of regulatory compliance, acquisition, licensure, internal investigation matters, and corporate counseling.

Bonner, a shareholder with Greenberg Traurig and co-managing shareholder of the Las Vegas office, is speaking Wednesday, May 10, 2017. He will be on a panel titled, “Financing IR projects – Best practice in grouping funds.” Panelists will discuss IR financing and how syndicated loans and equity finance will likely be used in IR project development.

“I look forward to an interesting discussion regarding IR financing and the exciting emerging opportunities for Japan,” said Bonner, who focuses his practice in the areas of corporation finance, corporate governance, business transactions, securities, and gaming.

Ishikawa, a shareholder with Greenberg Traurig and managing shareholder of the Tokyo office, is speaking Wednesday, May 10, 2017. He will be on a panel titled, “Opportunities for local prefectures and Japanese firms from various sectors.” Panelists will discuss IR and the main opportunities for Japanese companies that wish to enter the market.

“I look forward to an interesting discussion on the IR industry and the opportunities available for Japanese companies to tap into,” said Ishikawa, who focuses his practice on corporate finance and capital market matters.

According to the conference website, the Japan Gaming Congress is a two-day educational forum that will offer a clear, practical insight and understanding into the casino legislation in Japan. With a relatively short time to go before the first licenses are issued, now is the time to fully understand the potential complex nature of IR Casinos in one of the potential superpowers in Asia. With an estimated $40 billion market at stake the potential to be one of the major players has all the global gaming groups vying for a position in the lucrative market. Greenberg Traurig is a sponsor of the Japan Gaming Congress.
