Greentube, Treasure Island Partner on Social Gaming

Minnesota’s Treasure Island will use the Greentube Pro platform of Novomatic subsidiary Greentube to create a custom free-to-play social casino.

The Treasure Island Resort & Casino in Welch, Minnesota, owned by the Prairie Island Indian Community, announced that it is partnering with Greentube, the online-gaming subsidiary of Austria’s Novomatic Group, to create a custom-branded free-to-play social casino using the Greentube Pro platform.

“Online gaming has exploded in recent years, so it’s a natural shift for Treasure Island Resort & Casino to extend our games to guests outside of the walls of our casino,” said Shelley Buck, Prairie Island Tribal Council president. “The new online gaming platform we’re rolling out early next year includes an unparalleled user experience that engages players with our brand on and off the casino floor, amplifying our social impact and reach.”

Greentube is a leading developer and provider of iGaming solutions for the internet, mobile devices and iTV. Greentube Pro is Greentube’s private-label social casino marketing platform. Expected to be live during the first quarter of 2017, the social casino will be powered by will engage players across all platforms and devices.

Greentube will create a customized look and feel that reflects the physical appearance of the Treasure Island Resort & Casino.

Treasure Island Resort & Casino is Greentube’s second partnership with a tribally owned casino. “The Prairie Island Indian Community and Greentube share values focused on innovation and customer experience,” said Gabriel Cianchetto, president of market development for Greentube North America. “We are proud to partner with Prairie Island to offer its players a first-in-class social gaming platform and to assist Treasure Island in reaching a new but complementary demographic of gamers.”

Treasure Island mobile casino will operate on one seamless platform that offers the same virtual experience and rewards whether on mobile or online. Players can log in and double down wherever they have a broadband connection.

The platform, which will be designed by BlueBat Games, a subsidiary of Greentube, will allow for in-game marketing capabilities via multiple channels. The platform tracks with the evolution of modern life, which now offers shopping, socializing and everything in between from the convenience of a mobile device. The new virtual casino will provide an added dimension for current guests, but aims to attract the millennial demographic, a generation that has proved to be less enthusiastic about the traditional casino environment.

“Our first priority will be to create an extraordinary platform that reflects the spirit of Treasure Island Resort & Casino,” said Cianchetto. “We’ll look to Blue Bat Games to replicate many of the real-life experiences on the Treasure Island floor and keep their players engaged.”

Treasure Island will be among the first casinos in Minnesota to launch a digital gaming platform with a range of slot and gaming offerings comparable to its brick-and-mortar establishment.
