Ground Broken At Gateway’s Cascades Casino

A groundbreaking was held for Gateway Casino's $36 million Cascades Casino (l.) in Chatham-Kent, Ontario, British Columbia. The project will create 200 new jobs upon completion in mid-2019, and feature more than 300 slots and 12 table games, plus two restaurants. Cascades will be Gateway's first new build in Ontario; it operates three existing properties there.

Ground Broken At Gateway’s Cascades Casino

Gateway Casinos and Entertainment recently broke ground for the $36 million Cascades Casino in Chatham-Kent, British Columbia. The project is expected to be completed in mid-2019 and feature more than 300 slot machines and 12 table games, plus Gateway Casinos’ signature restaurants, MATCH Eatery and Public House and the Buffet. Gateway Chief Executive Officer Tony Santo said the venue will create more than 200 new jobs.

“It was just three months ago that the mayor and I stood next door at the Bradley Centre to announce we had committed to build a new casino here in Chatham-Kent. Today we break ground and start the construction of what we know will be a great state of the art entertainment attraction for your community and an important contributor to the local economy,” Santo said at the groundbreaking.

Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope added, “This is a first-class organization and I think the people of our community are going to be very pleased with the new casino and restaurant.”

Cascades Casino is Gateway’s first new build B.C. The company also operates existing properties in Langley, Kamloops and Pentiction.
