A groundbreaking ceremony recently was held for Gateway Casinos and Entertainment’s newest property in Penticton, British Columbia, Canada, the million Cascades Casino. The facility, expected to open in spring 2017, will be part of South Okanagan Events Centre and will offer slot machines and table games, dining options including a rooftop patio and an entertainment venue. The project created 400 construction jobs and will offer 150 permanent jobs when finished.
Penticton Mayor Andrew Jakubeit noted Gateway Casinos’s new casino would provide more funding for the city, create new jobs enhance the city’s goal to have the South Okanagan Events Centre become an entertainment destination.
Gateway Casinos manages 18 gambling venues across British Columbia, Ontario and Alberta, employing 3,800 people. Altogether the properties offer more than 6,000 slots and 200 gaming tables, as well as a variety of entertainment, accommodation and food and beverage options.
