Groundbreaking Planned For Ontario Casino

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held April 27 for the 48,000 square foot Shorelines Casino in Belleville, Ontario, Canada. The casino, which will provide 300 jobs, will be owned by Great Canadian Gaming of British Columbia, managed by Ontario Gaming East Ltd. and regulated by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation.

Ground will be broken for Shorelines Casino in Belleville, Ontario, Canada on April 27. Regulated by the Ontario Lottery and Gaming Corporation, the casino will be owned by British Columbia-based Great Canadian Gaming Corporation and managed by Ontario Gaming East Ltd. The 48,000 square foot facility will employ 300 people.

The Belleville city council voted on January 25 to enter into an agreement with OLG to prepare the casino construction site.

Under OLG regulations, 5.25 percent of Shorelines’ first $65 million generated by electronic games and 4 percent of revenue from table games will be directed back to the community for projects determined by the city council.
