Gun Lake Casino Promotes Althaus

Gun Lake Casino in Wayland, Michigan recently named Eric Althaus general manager and vice president. Althaus previously served as director of table games and assistant and interim general manager at the property, owned by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians. He also worked at Station Casinos, MGM Resorts International and Pinnacle Entertainment.

Eric Althaus has been named general manager and vice president at Gun Lake Casino in Wayland, Michigan, owned by the Match-E-Be-Nash-She Wish Band of Pottawatomi Indians, or Gun Lake Tribe. Previously Althaus was director of table games, assistant general manager and interim general manager at the property.

Prior to joining Gun Lake Casino, Althaus worked at Station Casinos, MGM Resorts International and Pinnacle Entertainment, among others, in various roles.

Gun Lake Casino President and Chief Operating Officer Sal Semola said, “As a day-one team member, Eric has been key to the growth and development of the casino. This appointment to general manager is well-deserved.” Althaus stated, “It’s an exciting time for Gun Lake Casino. I’m proud to be entrusted with the task of leading the team to continued success.”

The appointment of Althaus follows the end of Gun Lake Casino’s management contract with MPM Enterprises, a joint venture owned by an affiliate of Station Casinos Inc. and a group of Mount Pleasant-based investors.
