Hackers Attack Trump hotels

Hackers accessed the accounts of customers at seven Trump Hotel Collection properties from Las Vegas to New York over about a year, but the total number of affected customers isn’t known yet. Trump Taj Mahal in Atlantic City was not impacted since it is not part of the Trump Hotel system.

Hackers over a period of about a year attacked seven Trump Hotel Collection properties and might have stolen customer credit card and debit card numbers.

Hackers accessed account information at Trump SoHo New York, Trump International New York, Trump National Doral in Miami, Trump International Chicago, Trump International Waikiki in Hawaii, Trump International Hotel and Tower Las Vegas, and Trump International Toronto, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

The company’s website says hackers accessed the properties’ computer systems at the front desk and in restaurants and stores from about May 2014 to June 2015 but did not say how many people were affected.

No evidence of customer identity theft has arisen thus far, the company said, but identify theft often can take many months or longer to surface and the company is providing a year of free identity theft protection for affected customers.

The FBI and U.S. Secret Service are investigating the matter.
