Hard Rock Indiana Prepares to Launch Sports Betting

Hard Rock Northern Indiana in Gary recently received a temporary vendor license for retail and mobile sports wagering from the Indiana Gaming Commission. That means it could take wagers on the February 13 Super Bowl or at least in time for the National Collegiate Athletic Association tournament in mid-March.

Currently Indiana has 13 licensed mobile sport wagering operators. DraftKings has been the leader in handle every month since sports betting launched in the state in October 2019; FanDuel has been number one in gross revenue for each of the last eight months. WynnBET, Barstool Sportsbook, Betway and Bally’s all offer platforms; Bally’s launched last month.

Despite its relatively small size, Indiana was one of five states to surpass $6 billion in wagers in 2021. Operators took in more than $3.8 billion in bets last year; more than one-third of that total came in the last quarter.
