Hard Rock Sioux City Unveils Expansion

The Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in downtown Sioux City, Iowa recently debuted its $6.2 million, 8,000 square foot expansion. The new area features the Wine Bar with 125 labels, 60 new slots, two blackjack tables and a private lounge area—plus a snakeskin patterned carpet on the new gaming floor.

The .2 million, 8,000 square foot expansion at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in downtown Sioux City, Iowa recently opened. A grand opening will be held June 10, coinciding with a concert by Willie Nelson at Battery Park. General Manager Todd Moyer said, “The decor is really like this ’70s kind of feel like a classic casino. It just compliments the rest of the facility very well so there’s a smooth transition as you go from the original Battery building that was built 110 years ago to the new casino expansion we added on and then this space.”

The expansion’s main attraction is the Wine Bar, offering 125 wine labels. The area also includes 60 new slot machines and two blackjack tables plus a private lounge area. Moyer said, “Why’d we build this space? Well, we talked to a lot of our players and this is what they’ve asked for. They wanted a different type of bar experience. We’re very proud of this property having a different vibe at every turn and this is different yet.”

The new gaming area also features a snakeskin patterned carpet, a lattice suspended metal ceiling and memorabilia from ’70s rock icons, including Bruce Springsteen’s jacket and Tom Petty’s guitar.
