Hard Rock Tahoe to Open in January

The former Horizon Resort Casino in Stateline, Nevada will reopen under the Hard Rock brand early next year. The property has undergone a $60 million renovation, gaining an Elvis Suite in the process along with new restaurants, bars and concert venues.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Lake Tahoe will open in January, following a million renovation that erased all vestiges of the former Horizon resort. According to the Los Angeles Time, the overhaul included more than 530 rooms, introduced an Elvis Suite, and added all-new restaurants, bars, concerts areas, and a new casino.??

Elvis left the building long ago, but he actually stayed in the 1,800-square-foot Elvis Suite when he performed at the resort, then Del Webb’s Sahara Tahoe, in the early 1970s, according to the hotel’s website. The Sahara later became the Horizon, which closed April 1.??

Reservations are now being accepted at the resort.
