Hard Rock International last week announced it has acquired a casino premise license that would allow it to build and open a casino in the U.K.
It purchased the license from the Ritz Club in London. This would continue the company’s aggressive entrée into the international market at global gateway cities such as New York, Paris, Madrid, etc.
Jim Allen, chairman of Hard Rock International, commented, “We look forward to expanding our brand offerings and bringing our hospitality, gaming and entertainment to the birthplace of Hard Rock.” Hard Rock is also pursuing the rights to operating an integrated resort in Japan.
The Ritz Club closed last March due to the coronavirus lockdown and announced recently that it wouldn’t be reopening.
