The $275 million expansion at Harrah’s Cherokee Valley River Casino & Hotel in Murphy, North Carolina is on target and expected to be completed in late 2024.

Work on the project, consisting of an expanded gaming floor, new hotel tower and parking deck, began in September 2022. It’s projected to generate $35 million for the local economy upon completion, creating 900 construction jobs and 100 permanent positions.

By mid-2024, officials said the gaming floor will be expanded by 25,000 square feet, doubling its current size, with 300 new slots and eight additional table games. Other highlights include the World Series of Poker Room, a 22-seat central bar with nine tabletop games, bar and lounge seating and an expanded motorcoach lobby for bus visitors. patrons.

The 12-story, 296-room hotel tower is expected to open in late 2024, officials said. The 196-foot-tall onsite crane has begun erecting steel units and crews also have begun setting concrete columns and cast-in-place walls.

Amenities will include an indoor pool, fitness center, 9,600-square-foot full-service spa and salon, expanded hotel porte-cochere, new hotel lobby with upgraded hotel registration and a rooftop restaurant featuring indoor and outdoor seating and spectacular mountain views and a 25-seat bar and wine cellar.

The new 1,300-space parking deck, scheduled to open in summer 2024, will provide direct, covered access to the gaming floor.
