Harrah’s Northern California Extends Wage Payments

Furloughed employees of Harrah’s Northern California will be paid through April 30. Rhonda Pope-Flores (l.), chairwoman of the Buena Vista Rancheria, said she hopes extending the payments will “alleviate our team members’ financial concerns so they can direct their focus on staying safe.”

Harrah’s Northern California Extends Wage Payments

Employees of Harrah’s Northern California will continue to be paid through April 30, a two-week extension from the previously announced April 15 date.

According to a releasee, “no Harrah’s Northern California team member has gone without pay since the temporary suspension of operations on Wednesday, March 18. In addition, the casino continues to pay 100 percent of team members’ insurance premiums, including medical, dental, vision and supplemental benefits, throughout the duration of the property’s closure.”

“We understand how challenging this uncertain time is for our team members and their families, which is why we are making every effort possible to keep them whole while we ride out this storm together,” said Rhonda Pope-Flores, Buena Vista Rancheria chairwoman. “By offering an additional extension in pay, it is our hope to alleviate our team members’ financial concerns so they can direct their focus on staying safe and caring for their families. We will continue to assess this rapidly evolving situation and assist our team members where we can.”

Harrah’s Northern California Casino is located on the Buena Vista Tribe Reservation land in Amador County, between Stockton and Sacramento.
