Harrah’s Philadelphia Debuts Poker Room

The new World Series of Poker room at Harrah’s Philadelphia completes a major renovation project at the casino, moving the poker operation to the main floor.

Harrah’s Philadelphia in Chester, Pennsylvania wrapped up a major renovation project with the April 26 debut of a new poker room on the casino floor.

The new World Series of Poker Room at Harrah’s opened to a rush of players who filled the 27 poker tables. The original poker room was on the floor below the main gaming floor, which is otherwise used for racetrack bets. “The poker room was moved from racing level to casino floor to have all gaming action on one floor,” General Manager Chris Albrecht told the Philadelphia Business Journal. “It was part of the re-imagination of the back of the casino with the new sports book and Topgolf.”

“We’ve really excited to now have a permanent home for our poker team and to add an amenity back here that our customers will be all on one gaming floor and to use the rest of the facilities as they keep coming back to the poker room,” Albrecht said in a separate interview with the Delco County Times.

“This is larger square footage and is all contained in one area for them instead of sharing with the racing room. They have their own bar back here as well for everything. This is all self-contained poker space.”
