Joseph J. Hasson, general manager of the Mohegan Casino at Virgin Hotels Las Vegas, has been named interim chief operating officer for the Mohegan Tribal Gaming Authority, CDC Gaming Reports reported April 18. The change came after the sudden resignation and departure of Jody Madigan, who held the COO position for many years.
The company gave no reason for the resignation, or the fact that it was moved up suddenly from the announced effective date of Aug. 1.
The Tribal Authority called Hasson the “obvious choice” for the job because of his previous experience as COO of Station Casinos LLC and Red Rock Resorts, Inc. Plus he has more than four decades in the gaming and hospitality sector.
He will report directly to Mohegan President and CEO Ray Pineault.
