A ribbon-cutting recently was held at the new casino addition at the Ho-Chunk Nation’s Ho-Chunk Gaming Casino in Black River Falls, Wisconsin. It’s part of the tribe’s 3 million in expansions and renovations at three casino locations, also including Wisconsin Dells and Wittenberg.
The new section of the casino features an expanded and redesigned gaming floor with an additional 200 slots, high-limit area and a bar with a live-music stage. It’s a non-smoking area as requested by guests, said Executive Manager Greg Garvin.
Senior Manager of Public Relations Tris Harris said, “It was a bit surreal to see it finally opened. So many of us who have been waiting over 15 years didn’t think we’d ever see this day, and it was wonderful. Everyone I talked to loved how spacious it is and how upscale it looks. It really is night and day walking from the old casino into the new addition.”
The expansion also will include a remodeled buffet with 36 additional seats, a new parking lot and a new entry with distinctive lighted stucco trees. An additional 123-room hotel also is scheduled for completion in February 2018.
Harris added, “There is still a lot of construction going on, so it would be pretty amazing to come here in February when everything is completed with fresh eyes, but for those of us who are here daily, it’s getting pretty hard to remember what it used to look like.”
