Hollywood Park Casino to Hold Grand Opening

Hollywood Park Casino, which opened next to a thriving racetrack in 1994, only to see it close a few years ago is moving. It will reopen on October 21 next to Inglewood’s City of Champions Revitalization Project, which includes the new Los Angeles Rams sports stadium.

The Hollywood Park Casino in Inglewood, California will celebrate the grand opening of its revamped and related facility October 21 and give away million in prizes.

The card club casino will also hold a special poker tournament with celebrity guests.

Reacting to increased competition over the last few years owner Stockbridge Capital Group opted to move the casino, which first opened in 1994, next to Inglewood’s City of Champions Revitalization Project, which includes the new sports stadium built for the Los Angeles Rams.

The racetrack that the casino was built next to had closed, so there was no reason for it to remain, however the new location promises to put the casino right in the middle of the action, including an upcoming Super Bowl in 2022.

General Manager Deven Kumar said in a statement: “Revitalizing this facility, with all of its history and memories, will make HPC the premier casino and entertainment destination in Southern California. This revitalization plan brings with it more jobs, new properties for residents and visitors to enjoy and explore, as well as increased revenue for our city; all without using any tax dollars for any of the construction. It’s a win-win for Inglewood.”

The new facility built on 10.6 acres will have 65 California tables, 60 poker tables and a one fifth increase in gaming area.
